![]() One other point - With the gear reduction your going to operate in the upper RPM band much more and this also contributes to more noise. You made one point that caused me to smile: "inconvenience anyone else that I ride with" - My riding buddy whom usually leads as he isn't quite as aggressive as I am - Is now considering wearing some type of hearing protection because he says mine is so loud on the hills (Sand) as he feels I'm going to run over him. To retain my hearing as I don't wear a helmet - I wear a pair of Decibel Defense (37db) ear protection muffs. I have a Weller full exhaust and like the sound - But it is loud. I agree with you - An aftermarket exhaust does sound good. Some gut the stock muffler and re-calibrate the fuel for a performance bump - But then your back to making more noise.įor tuning beyond this - One has to have the knowledge or use an auto-correcting piggyback box - For fueling.įor ignition - Here again use one of the Graves files. It's just going to plugup the CAT and the motor will run a bit sluggish. Keep in mind though - Running the stock muffler as it has an internal CAT - There isn't a real benefit to re-calibrate the fuel curve. There is no cost involved and one can revert back to the stock tune if one wishes - The only cost is the cost of the kit itself. To re-calibrate the fuel - Without any tuning knowledge one can load one of the Graves files and try it. The Flash Tune kit addresses your points - radiator fan set points/raise rev limit/disable 5th gear speed limiter - All without having any tuning knowledge. Any aftermarket slip-on or full exhaust will be louder than the stock muffler.Īs to your question - Compromise tune. ![]() Because of your mandatory exhaust noise level checks - I suggest you not touch the exhaust.
